NYC Senior Storage Analyst

Wilson Elser’s New York Downtown office currently seeks a Senior Storage Analyst with a demonstrated ability to manage and secure high capacity network storage who possesses the below.
Successful candidates will have hands-on technical expertise with the operation, monitoring, maintenance, installation and configuration of Microsoft Windows based servers operating in a highly virtualized environment (Vmware) with extensive Dell SAN storage. This position is primarily responsible for the Firm’s Data Center and all associated storage for 25 offices and 1,600 users.
*Associates degree from an accredited university
*5+ years technical experience supporting very large networks
*Highly proficient with VMWare technologies, SANs (Dell Equalogics), Windows server 2003\2008, Virtualization (P2V), VMWare, Vmotion, VSphere and disaster recovery technologies
*Strong written and verbal communication and presentation capabilities
*Ability to travel to remote locations with little notice
*Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends and rotating on-call duties
*Experience with Citrix thin-client environments
*MCITP (Microsoft Certified IT Professional – Enterprise Administrator on Windows 2008 Server)
*VCP (VMWare Certified Professional)
*Dell Certified Enterprise Engineer
*Administer and maintain firm wide data center including Dell Equalogics storage area network and Cisco infrastructure. Manage storage, backups, data replication and snapshots in a multiprotocol environment
*Maintain and improve firm wide business continuity program.
*Upgrade and patch all firm wide server systems, including Dell 810 Poweredge server hardware, HP DL rack servers , ESX and Windows Server 2003/2008 servers.
*Research, recommend and implement additional systems to improve performance and stability.
*Develop a storage strategy which determines when and where to use different types of storage.
*Stay current with trends in virtualization, security and cloud computing.
*Work closely with vendors to resolve SAN related issues that have been escalated for third-level support.
*Monitor performance of enterprise applications running on the SAN platform.
*Perform all routine administration and maintenance, including patching, applying security updates and disaster recovery systems testing.
*Create and maintain documentation related to installations and configurations.
*Respond as a second-level escalation point for Help Desk personnel
